Therapy and Assessments

Therapy is the process of meeting with a therapist to resolve problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, relationship issues and somatic responses (sensations in the body). This can be a journey toward being the healthiest version of yourself and living the best life possible—no matter what challenges you may be facing. Through therapy, you can change self-destructive behaviors and habits, resolve painful feelings, improve your relationships, and work through traumatic experiences. This can be effective for children and adults. Assessments is a paradigm in which psycho-social evaluations is used to help people understand themselves better and find solutions to their persistent problems. Depending on the exact goal, this can also be used for behavioral assessments and school readiness, learning difficulties or career guidance in children. Often effective in divorce matters, contact and care disputes, criminal matters or presentencing consideration.

Medical and Psychiatric Social Work

Social workers in health settings are part of an interdisciplinary team of care providers and allied health professionals who work in concert to serve patients with conditions spanning the entire healthcare continuum. Helping the patient and their family navigate physical, financial, and emotional challenges is a top priority.

Employee Assistance Programs

Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) are employee benefit programmes and are intended to help employees deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health and well-being. In the event that a traumatic incident happens at the workplace, onsite trauma debriefing can be offered individually or to a group of employees. Furthermore, services related to EAP programs often include therapy or wellness counselling, employee development or leadership training. Organizational management and team building forms and integral part of these services that can be offered to your company.

Mediation and Parenting Plans

South African Law provides that all determinations relating to a child must be made in accordance with the best interests of the child standard as set out in the South African Constitution as well as in the Children’s Act of 2005. Starting with a mediation process and setting up a parenting plan can help with this and help to prevent a costly and time consuming divorce. In addition, it helps to co-parent more effectively and lessen the traumatic effect on all of the role-players.
